COVID-19 FOBİSİ VE ENDİŞE ŞİDDETİ; MESLEK YÜKSEKOKULU ÖRNEĞİ

Year 2021, Volume: 6 Issue: 2, 201 - 212, 10.09.2021

Abstract

COVID-19 PHOBIA AND INTENSITY OF ANXIETY; A VOCATIONAL SCHOOL EXAMPLE

Year 2021, Volume: 6 Issue: 2, 201 - 212, 10.09.2021

Abstract

Objective: In this study, it is aimed to determine the intensity of anxiety and Covid-19 phobia caused by the epidemic in students studying in health programs.
Materials and Methods: The universe of this descriptive research was consisted of students (n=473) from a vocational health education school of a university’s 2020-2021 academic year (students of anaesthesia, dialysis, first and emergency care programs) and the entire universe was accepted as a sample with 398 students who agreed to participate in the study. The present data was collected online manner using sociodemographic information form, Anxiety Severity Scale (ESÖ) and Coronavirus 19 Phobia Scale (CP19-S). ESD Cronbach-Alpha value 0.907; CP19-S Cronbach-Alpha was 0.948. SPSS 23 program was used in the analysis of the data, the results were evaluated in the confidence range of 95% and at the level of p<0.05.
Results: The RSP score of the students was 9.2±5.8 and the CP19-S score was 49.9±16.6. It was determined that women's CP19-S scores (51.0±19.9) were higher than men's (45±8±14.9) and women's ECO scores (9.53±6.0) were also higher than men's (8.1±5.0) (p<0.05). It was determined that the CSR scores (12.0±4.4) of those with chronic conditions were higher than those who did not (9±5±8) (p<0.05). A positive relationship was established between CP19-S and all its subdivisions (p=0.000). A significant relationship between ESP and CP19-S (R=0.587a; Adjusted R 2 =0.342; p<0.01); has been found.
Conclusions: Especially women and students with chronic diseases were found to have high anxiety severity and coronavirus phobia during the pandemic process, and the level of anxiety severity of the participants affected the level of coronavirus phobia by 58%.
