Abstract

Type 2 diabetes is an important metabolic disease characterized by hyperglycemia, which causes many complications associated with long-term morbidity and mortality risk. The aim of type 2 diabetes treatment is to prevent or delay the complications of diabetes and also to improve the patient's quality of life. The prevalence of type 2 diabetes is increasing exponentially and a high prevalence rate is observed in both developed and underdeveloped countries. Therefore, new strategies come to the fore in the treatment and prevention of type 2 diabetes. Recent studies have shown that intermittent fasting diets have beneficial effects in patients with type 2 diabetes. However, it should not be forgotten that these diet methods have some risks and it should be emphasized that intermittent fasting diets should be evaluated individually in patients with diabetes.

Tip 2 Diyabetes Mellitus Tedavisinde Yeni Bir Yaklaşım: Aralıklı Açlık Diyetleri

Year 2024, Volume: 9 Issue: 1, 83 - 86, 30.04.2024
