INVESTIGATION OF NONSPECIFIC LOW BACK PAIN IN HOSPITAL AND HOME HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS

Yıl 2020, Cilt: 3 Sayı: 1, 15 - 19, 20.02.2020

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of
nonspecific low back pain on disability in home care health providers.

Methods: Fifty-four health care providers with a mean age of 33.03±7.34
years were included in the study. Health care providers in hospital was
referred as Group 1, health care providers in home care was referred as Group
2. The sociodemographic characteristics of the participants were questioned.
Nonspecific low back pain was measured by Visual Analog Scale (VAS). The
Quebec Back Pain Disability Scale (QBPDS) was used to assess functional
disability associated with low back pain.

Results: When the pain intensity of both groups was compared, the VAS
activity and VAS night scores of Group II were higher than Group I
(p<0.05). QBPDS scores were significantly higher in Group II compared to
the groups (p<0.05). A moderate positive correlation was found between the
VAS activity score and QBPDS disability scores (r=0.50; p=0.005).

Conclusion: Nonspecific low back pain severity of health care providers
at home care service is high. Particularly, the severity of the pain felt in
the activity is related to disability.

Hastanede ve Evde Bakımda Çalışan Sağlık Profesyonellerinin Nonspesifik Bel Ağrılarının İncelenmesi

Yıl 2020, Cilt: 3 Sayı: 1, 15 - 19, 20.02.2020

Öz

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı,
evde bakım hizmetinde görev alan sağlık çalışanlarının nonspesifik bel
ağrısının özürlülüğe etkisinin araştırılmasıdır.

Yöntem: Çalışmaya, 24-65
yaş aralığında (33,03±7,34 yıl) 54 sağlık çalışanı dahil edildi. Hastanede
görev alan sağlık çalışanları I. Gruba, evde bakım hizmetinde görev alan
sağlık çalışanları II. Gruba dahil edildi.
Katılımcıların sosyodemografik bilgileri sorgulandı. Nonspesifik bel
ağrısını değerlendirmek için Vizüel Analog Skalası (VAS) kullanıldı. Bel
ağrısıyla ilişkili özürlülüğü değerlendirmede Quebec Bel Ağrısı Özürlülük
Ölçeği (QBAÖÖ) kullanıldı.

Bulgular: Her iki grubun ağrı
şiddeti karşılaştırıldığında Grup II’in VAS aktivite ve VAS gece skorları Grup
I'den daha yüksek bulundu (p<0,05).
