Ayrıca %77.8’i cinsel deneyim yaşamamış olup %55.1’i evlilik öncesi cinsel deneyimin yaşanmaması gerektiğini düşünmektedir.

ABSTRACT
Objective: It was conducted to examine the relationship between university students' level of belief in sexual myths and their understanding of honor towards women.
Methods: The study, which has a descriptive and correlational design, was carried out between September and November 2022. The sample consisted of 361 students who volunteered to participate in the study as a result of power analysis and met the inclusion criteria. In the collection of study data; Descriptive Information Form prepared in accordance with the literature, Attitude Scale for the Women-Related Conception of Honor (ASWRCH) and, Sexual Myths Scale (SMS) were used.
Results: The mean age of the students participating in the study was 20.18± 2.19. 85.3% of the students were women and 71.5% of them received information about sexuality. Also 77.8% of them did not have sexual experience and 55.1% of them think that premarital sexual experience should not be experienced. The students' mean SMS score was 57.48±15.31; ASWRCH was 108.19±14.22. The total ASWRCH score of the students who thought that they could have sexual experience before marriage was found to be significantly higher (p<0.001), and the total score of SMS was found to be significantly lower (p<0.001). As a result of the correlation analysis between SMS and ASWRCH total score, a strong negative significant correlation was found (r =-0.70; p<0.001).
Conclusion: It was determined that the participants had an egalitarian approach in terms of honor and attitude towards women, and sexual myths were more common in male students.
