Bir Üniversitede Kadın Çalışanların Doğurganlık Tercihi İle İlişkili Faktörler

Year 2025, Volume: 10 Issue: 2, 96 - 102, 30.08.2025

Abstract

Factors Associated With Fertility Preference Of Female Employees At A University

Year 2025, Volume: 10 Issue: 2, 96 - 102, 30.08.2025

Abstract

The research aims to determine the factors associated with the fertility preference of female employees at Iğdır University. In this descriptive, cross-sectional study, an attempt was made to reach the entire universe without choosing a sample. The population of the research consists of 186 female staff working in academic and administrative staff at Iğdır University in April 2022. 142 of these women are married. A literature review was conducted and questionnaires developed by the researcher were used. The questionnaire includes questions about women's demographic characteristics, socio-economic characteristics, fertility characteristics, cultural characteristics, information about the last pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Percentage distribution, mean, standard deviation, Pearson Chi-Square and Fisher's Exact test were used to analyze the data. In the study, the significance level was accepted as p<0.05. According to the study findings, there is a statistically significant relationship between the place of residence, the woman’s educational level, the husband’s educational level, consanguineous marriage, the family’s economic status, and the number of household members with the woman’s fertility preference, whereas no significant relationship was found between family structure and the husband’s employment in a regular income-generating job (p<0.05).
