Fertilite Farkındalığının Önemi ve Ebenin Sorumlulukları

Abstract

Fertilite (doğurganlık) kavramı, üreme yeteneğine sahip olabilme anlamında gelmekte ve pek çok faktör fertiliteyi etkilemektedir. Çocuk sahibi olup olmama, ne zaman ve nasıl olacağına dair kararlar bireysel tercihlerdir ve bu alandaki tercihler doğru bilgiye sahip olmaya dayanmaktadır. Günümüzde dünya genelinde fertilite ile ilgili farkındalık düzeyinin düşük olduğu belirtilmektedir. Sağlık hizmetlerinin sunumunda ekip içerisinde önemli bir yere sahip olan ebelere, bireylere fertilite farkındalığı kazandırmada büyük sorumluluklar düşmektedir. Ebe; doğurgan çağdaki bireylerin, bireysel özellikleri ve doğurganlığı etkileyen faktörler hakkında veri toplamalı, fertilite farkındalık düzeylerini belirlemeli, bilgi gereksinimlerini saptamalı ve gereksinim duydukları konularda planlı öğretimler yapmalıdır. Bu derlemenin amacı; fertilite ile fertilite farkındalığı kavramlarını ve etkileyen faktörleri açıklamak, bireylere fertilite farkındalığı kazandırmanın önemine ve ebelerin sorumluluklarına dikkat çekmektir.

Midwife's Responsibilities in Developing Fertility Awareness

Abstract

The concept of fertility means having the ability to reproduce and many factors affect fertility. Decisions about whether, when and how to have children are individual preferences, and choices in this area are based on having accurate information. Today, it is stated that the level of awareness about fertility is low worldwide. Midwives, who have an important place in the team in the provision of health services, have great responsibilities in raising awareness of fertility to individuals. Midwife; should collect data on the individual characteristics of individuals in childbearing age and the factors affecting fertility, determine their fertility awareness level, determine their information needs, and make planned teachings on the subjects they need. The purpose of this review; To explain the concepts of fertility, fertility awareness and the factors affecting it, to draw attention to the importance of raising awareness of fertility to individuals and the responsibilities of midwives.
