CUMHURİYET ÜNİVERSİTESİ LİSANS ÖĞRENCİLERİNDE SAĞLIK OKURYAZARLIĞI DÜZEYİ VE İLİŞKİLİ FAKTÖRLERİN ARAŞTIRILMASI

Abstract

Bu çalışma Sivas Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi
öğrencilerinin sağlık okuryazarlığı düzeyini belirlemek ve sağlık okuryazarlığını
etkileyen faktörleri incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırma Sivas Cumhuriyet
Üniversitesi merkez kampüsünde bulunan 5 fakültede Nisan 2018 - Haziran 2018
tarihleri arasında 717 birey üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Bireyler Türkiye Sağlık
Okuryazarlığı Ölçeği-32 (TSOY-32) ile sosyodemografik veri formunu
yanıtlamışlardır. Öğrencilerin genel sağlık okuryazarlığı puan ortalaması, 50
puan üzerinden, 35.2±7.7 olarak bulunmuştur. Kişilerin cinsiyet ve
fakültelerine göre sağlık okuryazarlığı puan ortalamaları arasında
istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark bulunmamıştır (p=0.956 ve p=0.151).
Bireylerin en uzun süre yaşadıkları yere ve sosyal statü algılarına göre sağlık
okuryazarlığı puan ortalamaları arasında istatiksel olarak anlamlı fark
bulunmuştur (p=0.018 ve p=0.001). Kırsal bölgede yaşayanlarda genel sağlık
okuryazarlığı puan ortalaması kentsel bölgede yaşayanlara göre düşük
bulunmuştur. Sosyal statülerini 9-10 olarak algılayanların sağlık okuryazarlığı
puan ortalaması, 1-6 olarak algılayanlardan yüksek bulunmuştur. Ayrıca aile
hekimini tanıyanlarda genel sağlık okuryazarlığı puanı tanımayanlara göre
yüksek bulunmuştur (p=0.002). Bireylerin %39.1’inin sağlık okuryazarlığı
yetersiz bulunmuştur. Sağlık bilgisine erişimde katılımcıların en çok tercih
ettiği yöntem internettir. Daha kaliteli sağlık hizmeti için anlaşılır ve
güvenilir bilgi kaynaklarının internet ortamında sağlanması önerilebilir.
