With global warming, the climate is losing its natural course and extreme weather events are occurring. Increasing temperatures and changing climate conditions negatively affect human safety, health, and quality of life. The hospitals we apply to regain, protect, or improve our health are among the institutions that increase carbon emissions in the world. Nurses, who are constantly active in hospital treatment and care, are among the groups that directly affect the carbon emissions of hospitals through the use and management of resources. For this reason, this review has been prepared to emphasize the importance of nurses' roles in climate change and its effects on health and to call for awareness of this issue to our colleagues. In addition, current recommendations are presented to nurses to reduce climate change and carbon footprint in their hospital and non-hospital lives.
