Abstract

Abstract
The nursing process is needed to optimize the care of COVID-19 patients and to minimize the risk of transmission. The aim of this study is to examine the nursing diagnoses of patients diagnosed with COVID-19. The data of the descriptive study were collected by snowball method between May and June 2020. 1,019 nurses working in different hospitals across Turkey were included in the study. A questionnaire prepared in line with the literature was used to collect the data. Data was collected online via Google Forms. The data were analyzed by using a statistical program in computer environment. Among the nursing diagnoses evaluated in line with the Activities of Daily Living model, the most common diagnoses were “hyperthermia” (12.4%), “anxiety” (8.4%) and “ineffective airway clearance” (8.2%). According to the unit they work in, the most common diagnoses by nurses are; Those working in the COVID-19 service were diagnosed as “anxiety”, those working in the COVID-19 intensive care unit were diagnosed as “ineffective respiratory tract cleaning”, and those working in the COVID-19 emergency service were diagnosed as “hyperthermia”. It is thought that this study explains the nursing diagnoses of COVID-19 patients in general terms.
